As an American traveling, I have become very aware of how Americans sound when traveling…and thus have tried to sound less American whenever traveling.

I don’t miss reading the news

Globally available, decent-to-high-end bathroom fixtures makes a bit of a monoculture when traveling. I can’t help but wonder what it would have been like before such things were available affordably, but I think a good guess is “generally grosser”
