The perfect invention? Tells you your weight and then immediately takes it back

Usually reaching out to one or two former co-workers from my early days of work will have me crawling LinkedIn seeing where others have landed and what they’ve done. It’s really heartwarming to see former colleagues be so successful.

Listen, I know. USB-C has its problems, but do you really want to go back to having a box full of 25 cables trying to match this beast? I know I don’t!

I know being Google-able isn’t a thing that everyone wants, especially in the age of Clankers ripping of info as if it came up with it…but man, so much human knowledge will be lost to time in the depths of Discord servers.

In trying to make good on my goal to federate posts here to the wider web and in testing shortlinks, I was informed I spammed RSS feeds today. Sorry about that. Testing is hard.

I have set up my computer/phone to try out “Doom Coding” (link below) because I was tickled by the novelty. Found some other interesting ideas in the process, but the real deal is that even directing code on a phone, let alone a single screen, is tough to capture all the things you want to be looking at/checking. I am, however, tickled to access a custom webpage generated “locally” from anywhere. Novel for me, at least

I deleted a Digital Ocean virtual server today, having migrated the 3 Wordpress sites it hosted to static sites. Hoping to lighten the load like that some more in 2026.

I was just saying the other day how it would be so much easier to build and maintain an unbelievably massive military so we could go and invade a country based on oil reserves, as opposed to investing and building renewable infrastructure that would actually generate IP, jobs, and long term stability. Especially when competing nations are doing that in our stead. Yep, makes total sense.

Have been working on a new website where all pages are in JSON format and then rendered at the time of pushing to site to CI. The true opposite of groundbreaking in a web context, but I am marveling at how hard I have made it for myself for years…
